So you’re playing GT7on PS5 and suddenly your wind simulator and haptic motors stop responding? It could be an Arduino issue, but when several accessories go quiet at once, the UDP connection between your console and Sim Hub is worth checking. Try these five quick fixes to see whether that connection is the problem and get your setup responding again.
1 Your IP address changed
Your router can assign a new local IP address, leaving telemetry settings pointed at the old one.
Quick fix: For GT7, match the PS5 address in SimHub to the console’s current IP. For F1, match the game’s telemetry destination to your PC’s IP. Create a router DHCP reservation to keep the address consistent, or use a correctly configured static IP.
2 Security software is blocking SimHub
Windows Firewall or third-party cybersecurity software can block telemetry even when internet access works.
Quick fix: Create an exception for SimHub in Windows Firewall and any third-party network protection. Ensure it applies to your active network profile; use Private for your trusted home network. Keep protection enabled with the appropriate exceptions.
3 Your devices cannot reach each other
Guest Wi-Fi, device isolation, or a VPN can prevent local communication.
Quick fix: Connect the PS5 and PC to the same main home network and disconnect the VPN to test. Ethernet and Wi-Fi can work together. For intermittent dropouts, try Ethernet to rule out wireless instability.
4 Another telemetry app is conflicting
Multiple applications trying to receive data on the same UDP port can interfere.
Quick fix: Close other telemetry or dashboard programs and restart SimHub. If that works, configure SimHub’s UDP forwarding where supported before reopening them. Any changed destination port must match the receiving application’s settings.
5 Game settings are incorrect
The wrong game selection or telemetry configuration can prevent a connection.
Quick fix: Select the correct game in Sim Hub and follow its Game config instructions. Where available, check that telemetry is enabled and verify the destination IP, port, and format. Test while driving, since menus may not provide usable telemetry.
How to Know It Worked
Check for “Game connected” and changing speed or RPM values in Sim Hub while driving. No live data means the game or network still needs attention. Live data with an unresponsive accessory points toward effect settings or device output.
